As September turned to October, enthusiasm and engagement were strong as the 11th Annual David Felter 72-Hour Memorial Bike-a-Thon continued into its second day.
Nearly 90 man hours have been logged riding three stationary bikes and manning a nearby donation table as part of a fund-raiser for people with disabilities and The Ability Experience.
The bike-a-thon kicked off at 5 p.m. Wednesday and will run through Saturday’s homecoming football game. It will conclude at 5 p.m. Saturday.
From 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Friday, chapter members will broadcast the event on Facebook Live. Please consider supporting us by watching and donating. Then again from 4:45 to 5 p.m. Saturday you can watch the conclusion of the 11th year of bike-a-thon on Facebook Live, too.
The event is being held in memory of Feltner, who died of a rare form of cancer while an undergraduate member of the fraternity. He was very committed to The Ability Experience and its outreach to people with disabilities.
By midnight Thursday, the chapter had raised more than $2,000 with nearly $1,000 of that coming from Venmo.
