On March 29, chapter members engaged members of the Purdue Greek community by committing to stop people from using the “R” word when referring to people with disabilities.
Nearly 250 signatures were gathered on a sheet sign that was initially displayed under a front lawn tent at the chapter house, 330 N. Grant St. Afterwards, the sheet sign was proudly displayed on the front of the house through the reminder of Easter weekend.
The efforts are consistent with the chapter’s commitment to serving people with disabilities alongside The Ability Experience, the national fraternity’s philanthropic outreach program. Chapter members raise money and awareness for those who need help and oftentimes face discrimination.
