Alpha Chi Omega captured the dodgeball title during Saturday’s opening event of the annual War of the Roses competition.
Fifteen teams are competing for the ability to have their top representative be crowned the Rose queen on Feb. 20. That organization’s winner will not only be our Rose Queen, but her photo will be on the Pi Kappa Phi composite photo next school year.
Saturday’s dodgeball will be followed by trivia competition on Sunday night, an awareness tent at the Purdue belltower, Tuesday’s game night with people with disabilities, Thursday’s Second Chance prom co-hosted with Best Buddies-Purdue and Thursday’s talent competition.
Fourteen sororities and one women’s cooperative have the chance to compete in the various events and also through sheet signs, fund-raising, t-shirt, ticket sales and by winning the top performer at the talent show.
The talent show is open to the public and will be held 6 to 8 p.m., at Loeb Playhouse in Stewart Center on the Purdue campus. Tickets can be purchased in advance through the participating organizations and their fraternity coaches or at the door.
The annual event has a $20,000 fund-raising goal for The Ability Experience, the national fraternity’s outreach for people with disabilities.
