As day turned the night, goofiness prevailed in the first evening of the 10th Annual David Feltner Memorial Bike-a-Thon on Thursday night.
Garrett Oath thought it might be a good idea to sit on the handles and ride one of the two stationery bikes backwards then Cole Guy joined in. Then Vince Gigilo blared Christmas music near the Purdue belltower. All’s part of the tail end of the first day or riding as the wind died down and temperatures dropped into the upper 50s.
The chapter members were among 20 or so guys to ride a bike for an hour as part of the three-day event honoring the late David Feltner and raise money for The Ability Experience.
Feltner was an undergraduate member of the chapter who died in 2001 of cancer. He was an integral volunteer for the chapter’s efforts raising money and awareness for people with disabilities. Since his death, the chapter has been holding the event in his memory.
You can support the chapter’s efforts by donating in person until 5 p.m., Saturday or by doing so online at:
The chapter will be broadcasting live from the event from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. on Friday on Facebook and Instagram. You can pose questions to riders and chapter members assembled at the belltower then.
Thank you for supporting people with disabilities.
