More than 60 prospective new members listened intently to a panel of Pi Kappa Phi chapter members describe their interactions with people with disabilities during the Aug. 29 Ability Experience recruitment function.
Pi Kapps are unique in fraternity circles with their commitment to programs and fund raising for the cause. In fact, attendees learned of all the events done during the school year by chapter members – David Feltner 72-Hour Memorial Bike-a-Thon, Arctoberfest, Second Chance Prom, War of Roses and Pi Kapp 100. Additionally, they learned from chapter cyclists in the Journey of Hope and Gear Up Florida about their experiences nationally as well.
Sunday began the second of three weeks of new member recruitment at Pi Kappa Phi. The fraternity already has 17 commitments to the fall new member class. The chapter will have two more event this week – Tuesday and Thursday – as well as another two next – Sunday and Tuesday. All recruitment events are from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Pi Kappa Phi house, 330 N. Grant St.
