It’s early Saturday morning and Pi Kappa Phi riders and table volunteers are still at it.
The 11th Annual David Feltner 72-Hour Memorial Bike-a-Thon entered its final day shortly after midnight Friday.
As the fund-raising for the event that honors Feltner, a former chapter member who died of a rare cancer in 2011, nears $3,000 this week the year’s fund-raising inches toward a new record. Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, the chapter has crossed the $20,000 year-to-date threshold for only the second time in its history on Friday.
Only one other time – in 2011 when the Ability Experience was a preferred memorial at Feltner’s memorial service – has the chapter achieved more than $20,000. That year we raised $21,861.
This year’s fund-raising stands at $20,672. We also have the chance to overtake the top spot in all Pi Kappa Phi. Currently the Baylor Pi Kappa Phi chapter leads the way with $21,882 to-date.

Remember, you can watch the final 15 minutes of the bike-a-thon streamed live at the chapter’s Facebook Live page (Pi Kappa Phi at Purdue) and on the Ability Experience’s Instagram page (Abilityexp) – weather permitting (rain is forecast all Saturday afternoon).
Thank you for your ongoing support of our efforts!
