The first 48 hours are in the books as chapter members, alumni and guests ride stationary bikes as part of Pi Kappa Phi’s efforts to assist people with disabilities.
More than $4,000 has been raised thus far during the 13th Annual David Feltner 72-Hour Memorial Bike-a-Thon being held in the parking lot of the chapter house this week. The event honors Feltner who was an undergraduate when we died in 2011 due to a rare form of soft tissue cancer.
The fund-raising assists the disabled nationally and locally through The Ability Experience, the fraternity’s outreach program.
The cycling event started at 1 p.m., Wednesday and will continue until 1 p.m., Saturday, immediately prior to the 3:30 p.m. homecoming football game against Illinois. Starting at 12:45 p.m. on Saturday, we will live stream the closing on social media (locations broadcasting the ending will be posted later, so watch this page for additional information).
