Recently, the chapter presented one of its Circle of Giving Grants to a local non-profit that serves people with disabilities on a daily basis.
Each year 25 percent of the chapter’s annual fund-raising efforts for The Ability Experience, the national fraternity’s outreach program, is presented to local agencies.
On Oct. 25 after five continuous days of chapter members volunteering with Life Has No Boundaries clients, we presented a check for $1,500. The money assists with programming that includes costs associated with outings and supplies, including entrance fees to Prophetstown State Park near Battle Ground, Indiana, that day.
The October donation was coupled with an earlier $1,375 grant presented on April 25. Thus, $2,875 has been donated this year to the local non-profit.
Pi Kappa Phi has been assisting local organizations in the Lafayette community since 2008. Sometimes as many as two dozen fraternity members assist with life and social skills with the agency’s clients.
