The new spring pledge class hails from seven different states and two countries with the predominant major being engineering.
The 19-member class started its Pi Kappa Phi journey of Feb. 7 during induction and the new member retreat that followed.
During the next several months the group will learn about the fraternity’s priorities including: Academic achievement, service and leadership. That three-pronged approach has helped Pi Kappa Phi become the most honored chapter in Purdue history.
Eleven of the 19 new member class come from Indiana. There are two from Illinois and one each from Missouri, Michigan, California, Virginia and Kentucky. The final member of the group is from Ontario, Canada.
Engineering is the major of choice with 12 of them in that multifaceted program. Exploratory studies is next with four, followed by two in technology and one in liberal arts.
There are three guys from McCordsville and another three from Jasper, Indiana.
