On Oct. 26 night, nearly 100 members from Pi Kappa Phi celebrated an early Halloween with our partners at The Arc of Tippecanoe with a costume party.
The event was held at the Bauer Family Resources facility in Lafayette alongside Best Buddies-Purdue with dancing and best costume awards. Pi Kappa Phi presented its Circle of Giving Grant for $1,500 from The Ability Experience, the national fraternity’s outreach program, with the Arc on Saturday night, too.
The event celebrated with people with special needs was established in 2011, but 2024 will be our last. The Arc is closing on Dec. 31 due to funding issues, staffing and the plethora of local agencies that do outreach programs for people with disabilities.
While we are sad to see this wonder relationship completed with the Arc, we salute the scores of people we’ve been able to share Halloween fun with for more than a decade!
Pi Kappa Phi will continue to work with people with disabilities including multiple outings and assistance each week with Life Has No Boundaries. We hope to partner with Best Buddies-Purdue on other special events as well.
Thank you Arc of Tippecanoe for a lifetime of memories!
