Congratulations to Justin Bonanno as he was named the co-IFC John Wooden Leader of the Year for 2024 on March 25 during the Greek Awards Ceremony on the Purdue campus.
Bonanno, a Dallas, Texas area native, will graduate in May 2025 with an industrial engineering degree with a minor in accounting. He was chapter president in 2023 and served as the Interfraternity Council’s vice president of administration where he managed fraternity conduct cases in 2024.
“What he has taught others will continue to be passed down to all the members of our fraternity and other campus organizations,” his nominator wrote. He brings out the best in the people. He motivates people to excel at the goals they choose to set for themselves.
“He sacrifices bits and pieces of himself to do what is right.”
Bonanno served two served internships with Proctor & Gamble, as a supply chain intern in Cincinnati in 2023, then as a process engineering intern in Chicago in 2024. Post graduation, he will be an analyst for Deliotte.
Before taking on his new analyst role, he will be riding this summer in the national fraternity’s Journey of Hope, a cross-country cycling event raising money and awareness for people with disabilities.
“I’m honored to receive this award, especially to have my name associated with the great John Wooden. What makes it even better is considering that Andrew Eichmeier, my pledge pop and mentor, received the same award just two years ago,” he said. “These continued successes speak to the culture of academics, leadership, and service that the Omega chapter of Pi Kappa Phi developed and grown.
“The chapter has been instrumental in my growth, and joining Pi Kappa Phi is easily the best decision I made at Purdue.”
