On April 28, the chapter held a “Pie a Pi Kapp” fund-raiser that brought in more than $1,000 for the chapter’s national philanthropy The Ability Experience.
The event was held on the front lawn of the fraternity house and it allowed parents, family or friends away from campus to donate money and see a chapter member hit in the face with a concoction of various condiments via a video recording. Passers-by, too, were able to join in the fun by plastering whipped cream, sprinkles, chocolate chips, chocolate syrup, ketchup and/or ranch dressing from their “pies” on a member’s face.In all, $1,096 has thus far been raised.
Proceeds are being split between the Pi Kappa Phi’s annual fund-raising totals and to support chapter members riding in summer events – three on Journey of Hope and another three on Gear Up Florida.You can still support the chapter’s annual fund drive for people with disabilities at:
