As the Ninth Annual David Feltner 72-Hour Memorial Bike-a-Thon entered its second day, the efforts made the local news on Thursday night.
Star City News, a local multi-network broadcast, featured a live segment on its 6 p.m. newscast.
Campbell Boston, Ability Experience chairman, was interviewed as cyclists continued their 3-day efforts.
Brandon Cutler, associate dean of students for fraternity, sorority and cooperative life, donated his money and time on the bike for the chapter’s annual Ability Experience funds.
Also, the early evening saw two more alumni participate in the ride – Sam Ragsdale and Chad Hellan – and two additional sororities compete for time and distance. Alpha Gamma Delta and Phi Mu were the early-evening competitors.
The bike-a-thon, named in memory of Felter who died from cancer in 2011, is one of the chapter’s main fund-raisers to assist people with disabilities.
